About Notre Dame School
Notre Dame School is a Catholic Institution in Arusha Arch Diocese, managed by The Society of the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame, Tanzania. Therefore, the decisions of The Governing Body find the source in Christian philosophy and theology. Notre Dame School traces its origin to its Spiritual Mother, St. Julie Billiart of France, who founded the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame in, Namur, Belgium in 1804.

More About The Notre Dame Congregation
Her charismatic spirit of finding God’s goodness in everything was handed over to our own Foundress Sister Mary Aloysia Wolbring. She instituted the Congregation of the sisters of Notre Dame in Coesfeld Germany in 1850 along with her companion Sr. Maria Ignatia.
Urged by the Charisma of St. Julie and Sister Mary Aloysia, Notre Dame, has established foundations throughout the world. The institution gives witness to God’s love by involvement in various, educational, social, and medical services in Germany, Italy, England, Holland, United states, South America, North America, Indonesia, India, Korea, Papua New Guinea, Philippines and Africa.
The first Notre Dame School began in Njiro, Tanzania, in 2002. In 2004 Notre Dame School, Machakos, Kenya, was opened then later Notre Dame School Kiomboi, Singida and Notre School Simanjiro, Manyara. Notre Dame Sisters also administer and give their service at Don Bosco Secondary School, Shinyanga.
